Community Affairs

Quick Links

The City of Tampa Office of Community Affairs coordinates and supports several non-profit groups and organizations throughout the city and, in some cases, in Hillsborough County.

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Committee

The CDBG Advisory Committee is a volunteer group of eighteen (18) citizens, which represents the entire city. The members make recommendations to the City each year, based on the needs of the various neighborhoods. City department heads consider these recommendations as they prepare the annual budget, that is presented to City Council for approval.  For more information, contact Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Committee's Program Coordinator or view the Calendar of Events.

  • Tampa/Hillsborough County Human Rights Council & Awards Celebration

The office coordinates the activities of Human Rights Council, which is an organization that brings together citizens of various backgrounds. They  all have one thing in common: a desire to promote the human rights of all individuals, as outlined in the International Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations in 1948. The group hosts an awards celebration each December.  For more information, contact Tampa/Hillsborough County Human Rights Council & Awards Celebration Program Coordinator.

  • Tampa/Hillsborough County Youth Council

The Youth Council is an organization of public and private high school students that meets regularly during the school year, to address concerns in such areas as education, criminal justice, family life/social issues, leisure activities and government. Membership is open to high school students throughout the county. It has an executive board and an advisory committee. For more information, contact Tampa/Hillsborough County Youth Council Program's Coordinator.
